About the speaker

Mehmet Ozsoz is a Professor in Faculty of Pharmacy , Girne American University in Northern Cyprus Turkish Republic. He has graduated from Chemical Engineering Department ,Middle East Technical University .He got his PH D degree from Faculty of Pharmacy ,Ege University.
In 1989-19991 and 1995-1996 he has been as post graduation work in USA. In 2016-2017 he has been a visiting researcher at the Lancaster University , UK.

Dr. Ozsoz’s research is based on developing electrochemical nucleic acid biosensors and he is one of the pioneers in this field having more than 150 papers with h factor 41 according to Web of Science . His researches have been focused on drug-DNA interaction, environmental monitoring, foodborne pathogen detection and mutation-related disease detection. He is also developing novel electrochemical biosensors for microRNA detection based on voltammetric and impedimetric techniques for more than 10 years.

He is also a recipient of Turkish Science and Research Establishment ,TUBİTAK Science Award in 2008,on “Extraordinary work done internationally on the electrochemical enzyme and DNA Based Biosensors”.
