This workshop will address effective sharing and reusability of unique samples, harmonized standard operational procedures (SOPs) and searchable sample catalogs of Rare Disease (RD) biobanking. The topics will include: principles of RD biobanking, how to establish a biobank for RDs, ethical concepts, quality management system, data and database management and security. Following the presentations by experts in the first day of workshop, a problem based tutorial section that will focused on the challenges in RD biobanking and a hands-on training will be provided to participants on the second day.
